Converging Creatives Mutual Inspiration Consortium
Location: Village at Bay Harbor
March 08, 2012 - March 11, 2012
9:00am - 9:00pm
Converging Creatives are visual and performing artists coming together to create works of a common theme. Mutual Inspiration is achieved by stepping out of one's comfort zone, and into the shoes of other types of artists, experiencing the creative process from a whole new perspective, while sharing one's own creativity with others. There will be one common theme that all artists interpret in their creative process.
Participants will follow ten hour program paths designed specifically for their own particular art form, while interacting with other creatives from very different fields. The outcome is to have a finished work for display and auction at the Saturday evening “Creatives Gala.” Artists will also have the opportunity to display and sell previously created original artwork, perform live music and sell CDs or performance videos during the four day event. Converging Creatives is open to the public with events on Friday and Saturday evenings, bringing a new arts experience to Northern Michigan, and connecting artists with a wider audience.

The Converging Creatives artist registration fee of $200.00 covers all consortium activities, as well as the registration cost for the “Inspirational Arts Exhibition.” It also qualifies artists to bring one original visual work, multiple copies of one CD, or one performance video for display, performance and sale during the event. Converging Creatives facilitates all sales, and receives 25% commission.
